Brief description of the organization
Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen was founded in 1477 and is one of Europe’s oldest universities, internationally renowned in the fields of medicine, natural sciences and the humanities. The Faculty of Medicine, together with the University clinics, the preclinical and scientific institutes and the clinical and theoretical departments, is one of the largest institutions for medical training and higher education in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and one of the most respected universities in Germany. The major focus of the Department of Immunology, which is affiliated to the medical faculty, is translational immunology; its spectrum of basic research covers T cell biology, antibody development, antigen presentation and innate immunity. Further, one of a kind GMP-facility in German universities, providing possibilities for manufacture of investigational medicinal products for clinical trial use is available, such as a NGS core facility.
